Natural News – Vitamins have GMO’s

Natural News, one of the most widely visited health information web sites in the world, has reported that a recent study has shown a high level of GMO food products inside of most popular vitamins.  GMO – Genetically Modified Organism.  If you have heard my GMO talk, you will be scared to death if you are taking a vitamin from a source other than trusted! GMOs are truly “hidden” in vitamins because the GM-derived ingredients are so heavily processed that all DNA is destroyed in the process, thereby destroying any footprint of genetic modification. Genetic ID tests, in other words, […]

Living Life in the MIDDLE

I was sitting in church this morning, and the message hit me… pulled me back to a classroom about 9 years ago, when I was hit with the reality that being focused on the perimeter in life is no good, and the center is where it all comes from.  So I am going to re-write this “sermon” into what I think might be a good way to push you into the center of life and out of the perimeter. First off, you don’t need to be a Christian to get something out of this, so don’t shy away.  The ideas […]

Ansley’s Story AGAIN

Ansley’s 3-Day Story Posted on October 3, 2011 by DrEric in Daily Sprout No Comments Nearly two years later – I want to tell you more.  If you read this one back in 2011, read on and see my conclusion… Well, it has been an interesting three days.  It was Thursday evening when I received a call at the office from my wife as I was finishing the shift, and preparing for a doctor’s report.  She (Laura) was very upset, and felt confident that Ansley had broken her leg.  She was driving her to the office so that I could look at her, but more importantly […]

We will be adjusting from 9-9:45am!  Come get your power turned on!!

Summer is over, time to get serious…

I was thinking last night that i wanted to find a Daily Sprout that helped to inspire as we come to the end of the summer (school calendar summer) and move into the start of structure, and scheduled life.  It is a time to push into the potential of your life, to make the most of the minutes of the day, and to work towards something big as you finish out your year.  I hope these words from December of 2011 have an impact on you today!   New Year=New You Posted on 12/28/11 in Daily Sprout, No Comments So here I […]

The CrossFit Games

Hey – a little on healthy living here.  Starting with functional fitness.  I think it is so cool that we get to see 60+ year old women running around a track and performing overhead squats with 45#.  This is cool stuff, and it is The CrossFit Games, happening this week and weekend in California. Yep, 60+ means what you think, click the image below to watch a video of this performance.  The first of many WOD’s (Workout of The Day) that will be done by these women.  This week is loaded with events at Games.CrossFit.Com from Masters competitors, to the OPEN […]

Acrylamide

Dr. Mercola has a fantastic new article on Acrylamide.  This toxic substance is one that you hear about from time to time in the health news world.  Look out for browned veggies, burnt toast, etc.  But rarely do you see it put together as well as this article. The point of reading it is this. “Everything causes cancer” – this statement will take anyone who is set in their ways, and wants to enjoy life because they deserve it, and it will give them cancer.  Colon, bladder, breast, lung, prostate… it isn’t specific to just the colon.  It can effect […]

Workout of The Week

Dr. Samara came in as an intern.  We got her working hard on building her skills, then we got her working hard on building her strength and athletic skills (she has an athletic background as a swimmer).  Here she is demonstrating strength and balance, all fun stuff that comes from CrossFit. So here today, we want to add to the repertoire of weekly workouts for you.  And once again, these are designed so that anyone can do them.  Why?  Because as Greg Glassman has said, the fitness needs of our elite fighters and our grandmothers differ in degree, not […]

1932 – A random year, when we didn’t expect this…

Wikipedia list of drugs pulled from the market in the US.  This is not a complete list, but is the list of what they consider to be the most remarkable.  There is one down on the left, Zelnorm.  I am going to give you some details on that one. But just for your interest, teratogenicity = developmental toxicity – thus a defect in development at some stage of life.  The image of the 2 headed calf below is an example. Drug name Withdrawn Remarks Thalidomide 1950s–1960s Withdrawn because of risk of teratogenicity; returned to market for use in leprosy and multiple myeloma under FDA orphan drug rules […]
