Total Food Makeover starts tonight. It is the most valuable 40 days we can put together when it comes to your Nutrition Health.  You need to realize that our food knowledge is ever changing, so our class is too.  Yes, we will talk Leptin, and Insulin, and Sugar and all that jazz.  We will remind you of what you might already know.

The GMO problem has got me worried.  Well, I worry about nothing, and this is really no exception, so let me restate, this GMO problem has me thinking we might just kill ourselves off faster than we all thought possible.  Its time that you realized how many GMO’s you consume every single day, and from that knowledge be inspired to win… big.

Shock findings in new GMO study: Rats fed lifetime of GM corn grow horrifying tumors!

(NaturalNews) Eating genetically modified corn (GM corn) and consuming trace levels of Monsanto’s Roundup chemical fertilizer caused rats to develop horrifying tumors, widespread organ damage, and premature death. That’s the conclusion of a shocking new study that looked at the long-term effects of consuming Monsanto’s genetically modified corn.

The study has been deemed “the most thorough research ever published into the health effects of GM food crops and the herbicide Roundup on rats.” News of the horrifying findings is spreading like wildfire across the internet, with even the mainstream media seemingly in shock over the photos of rats with multiple grotesque tumors… tumors so large the rats even had difficulty breathing in some cases. GMOs may be the new thalidomide.

“Monsanto Roundup weedkiller and GM maize implicated in ‘shocking’ new cancer study” wrote The Grocery, a popular UK publication. (http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/topics/technology-and-supply-chain/monsant…)

It reported, “Scientists found that rats exposed to even the smallest amounts, developed mammary tumors and severe liver and kidney damage as early as four months in males, and seven months for females.”

It goes on to say: “The animals on the GM diet suffered mammary tumors, as well as severe liver and kidney damage. The researchers said 50 percent of males and 70 percent of females died prematurely, compared with only 30 percent and 20 percent in the control group.”

The study, led by Gilles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caen, was the first ever study to examine the long-term (lifetime) effects of eating GMOs. You may find yourself thinking it is absolutely astonishing that no such studies were ever conducted before GM corn was approved for widespread use by the USDA and FDA, but such is the power of corporate lobbying and corporate greed.

The study was published in The Food & Chemical Toxicology Journal and was just presented at a news conference in London.

Findings from the study

Here are some of the shocking findings from the study:

• Up to 50% of males and 70% of females suffered premature death.

• Rats that drank trace amounts of Roundup (at levels legally allowed in the water supply) had a 200% to 300% increase in large tumors.

• Rats fed GM corn and traces of Roundup suffered severe organ damage including liver damage and kidney damage.

• The study fed these rats NK603, the Monsanto variety of GM corn that’s grown across North America and widely fed to animals and humans. This is the same corn that’s in your corn-based breakfast cereal, corn tortillas and corn snack chips.

The Daily Mail is reporting on some of the reaction to the findings:

France’s Jose Bove, vice-chairman of the European Parliament’s commission for agriculture and known as a fierce opponent of GM, called for an immediate suspension of all EU cultivation and import authorisations of GM crops. ‘This study finally shows we are right and that it is urgent to quickly review all GMO evaluation processes,’ he said in a statement. ‘National and European food security agencies must carry out new studies financed by public funding to guarantee healthy food for European consumers.’ (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2205509/Fresh-fears-GM…)

More Food For You!

Love hitting the videos lately, so we’ll be doing more and more of that. Makes it easy for you to see what is up! However, this one I kind of hovered close to my food as I was talking so you might have a difficult time with it. But the topic of today’s Daily Sprout needs to be fully investigated.

Many times people perceive special diets as difficult. That they take an incredible amount of effort and preparation. The reality is that the Advanced Plan is better simple. We eat in an incredibly simplistic manner around my house. Grass Fed beef, or organic free range chicken mixed with a nice serving of fresh vegetables. That is what we eat for almost every single dinner, and it is easy and VERY quick!

Lunch? Easier and quicker! For me, depending on the day, I will usually have a salad with either of the above meats, or with a bunch of pecans and Beyond Organic Raw Cheese (seen in the video as well).  If it is a day where I am at the office as well, then I add the Maximized Living Grass Fed Whey Protein (found in our office) to coconut milk, almond butter, and some kind of fruit depending on whether I am using chocolate or vanilla flavored whey.

Breakfast?  Smoothie, eggs cooked with that awesome cheese and spinach/bell peppers, or nothing.  You heard me, “the most important meal of the day”… nothing!  Yeah, so the value of breakfast is over-stated.  While you are in a “Leptin” healing mode, you probably need to be more focused on eating something for breakfast, but once you get it right, you will be pretty good at surviving without eating at any specific time, or with any specific time frame between.

 

The point, is that eating healthy is simple.  But what happens at the end of simple?  What happens at the place where desire meets difficulty?  Give me something strong in flavor, with some excitement, and real deep taste, then what?  Well, that is where failure happens… right when you want something that you cannot have, and you don’t know how to get it.  This is where lifestyle change turns into a lot of cheating with a little bit of right.  It happens in diets, of course we want your diet to be your lifestyle, and culture keeps yanking you back!

So one way to get the “hooks” out of you, is to find solutions to those desires.  The Portobello pizza brought to us via The Garage Paleo Supper Club, from Jamie Follmar.  This is a simple meal, the biggest problem that I have with meals like this, is planning the mushroom.  Everything else I keep on hand.  But to have portobello mushrooms around… not so common for me.  Definitely one consideration, when you are eating a simple and healthy lifestyle, and the desire for something awesome comes along, you might need to go shop!

In the Total Food Makeover, we will go on a couple shopping excursions.  The reason why we do this is primarily to give you knowledge of how to not be pulled in by the labeling on the front, and to always go to the labeling on the back.  But it is also to help you begin altering what you are buying for your pantry, and your veggie drawer and your freezer.  To build the stock of options for healthy foods by changing your purchasing habits.  If you fully understood the damage that is done to your body, and to the health of your kids, you would desire to fix this.

One way to do that, is to watch this movie.  I haven’t watched it myself yet, only heard of it today, but it was emailed to me and posted on my facebook timeline by two different people today.  So I am guessing it is good.  Check it out, I know it will intrigue you, simply by the title!

WOW, that’s odd…

There is a strange phenomena going on all around us.  If you are simply letting cultural living lead you, it is possible, though unlikely, that you haven’t noticed it.  And IF you have not noticed this phenomena, then you really need to pay close attention to this.

There has been an unprecedented rise in allergies (immune system dysfunction) to everything.  Food, environment, everything.  There has been an unrelenting increase in autism, ADD and ADHD.  This is a ridiculous problem, an epidemic.  Yet so many of the “so-called” experts would tell you that it is genetic.  A genetic epidemic… interesting thought, and if it is true, the question still needs to be, what could possibly change genetics that fast?

Both creationists and evolutionists would agree, there is no way to alter the DNA of an entire culture.  How could that be the cause?  It cannot, can it?  I will give some possible insight into how this whole thing could be happening, and oddly enough, it might just be enough to cause DNA to alter that quickly too (* Epigenetics).  The reality is, that there is one thing that has changed so drastically in the last twenty to thirty years, that once you stick your head into this, it is hard to deny.

Lifestyle exposure.

Have you ever stopped to consider what chemicals are in the plastic of a teething ring? Would you feed your child small plastic shavings?

What I mean by this, is that our entire lifestyle has opened up a door of exposure to chemical bombardment, that alteration of neural and immune function are an imminent by-product of this living.  Ultimately, if we dig hard enough, no matter who you are, what your background or bias, if you are open to the truth as it confronts you… you will realize we have brought this upon ourselves.

What exposures matter?

All in moderation right?  Wrong, there are certain chemicals, or altered foods, that will in some people, inflict harm the MOMENT they enter the body… whether it be the gut or the bloodstream.  I would agree with the real experts, that there is some level of individual resistance to an insult, and the response will vary in each person based on that resistance, which is why I choose for myself and my family to NOT be the least common denominator in every way that I can.

Though I would love to give the entire pile of evidence regarding this problem, I will simply state the areas of concern, and let your mind do the figuring.  First off, doesn’t it always seem that any company with lots of money… I mean LOTS OF MONEY… has the potential to hide something really well?  And though I don’t condone guilt by association (meaning, if you are associated with a lot of money, then you are guilty), I will say that for the most part, the larger more profitable companies, especially when it comes to providing consumer goods (consumables such as food, cleaning products, personal care products), most companies have shown their hand at some point, to be  a bit dirty.

The pink slime makers are suing ABC News, looking for $1.2B in damages… good luck, you are all dirty.  But I want you to decide, is it ok to chop up the remains of a cow and say that beef is beef?  Our country has come to allowing this sort of thing all the time, including all mechanical separated chicken in McNuggets, or conventional store bought chicken nuggets, or in just about every other chicken sandwich or nugget out there.  But what about a grilled breast, of course that is ok, right?  Well do you remember THIS ARTICLE that I wrote a while back regarding the Pfizer drug pulled from the market for causing too high of an increase in arsenic in people consuming chicken fed on this feed drug?

If you aren’t familiar, read it.  EVERY SINGLE CHICKEN raised conventionally is fed on a feed laced with arsenic, purposefully.  Not to pollute you, but with no respect for polluting you, and to ultimately aid in feed longevity and inflammation of the chicken, which makes it grow faster.  Do you really think that there will be no long term effects to eating purposefully inflamed (SICK) food?  Come on.

How about the vaccines?  And autism?  The Defeat Autism Now doctors take a mixed stand on vaccines, because they have concern over the validity of these vaccines helping you, thus don’t want you to avoid them.  Seriously.  They are helping you… have you seen the recent news about the outbreak of Pertussis… they were all vaccinated!  So now instead of seeing another cover up, which has largely been the way of the past, we see new news like this in Medpage Today, which suggests that pertussis vaccine weakens over time, so you need to get more shots… or boosters.

One of my greatest complaints, and that of my rich in research colleague Dr. Curtis Fedorchuk (who received a reward for Chiropractic Researcher of the year by a worldwide chiropractic foundation – worked for HealthSprout at the time), is that there is no research to back up the claims of vaccine manufacturers.  For the most part, they simply go off of the claim that diseases are eradicated, therefore they work.  Which is garbage.  Why are so many people who have been vaccinated getting sick?  And why were these diseases decreasing before the vaccines were ever created?

And all of this points to one clear thing.  Decreasing function of the neural and immune systems.  I didn’t receive 53 vaccines as a child, it was 11.  And now they think 53 is safe, but actually if you get them all, all recommended that is, and if the child carrying mother were to get all recommended to her, then we could be closer to 75 by the time you are 15.  An insult into the health of any child.  Why?  Because there is a truth to the titration experiment.

The experiment anyone in chem 101 did in a collegiate lab.  A pipette full of reagent, and a flask with another.  As you dropped on drop at a time, you were learning the point of no turning back.  As a portion of the flask reagent was being altered with every drop… but it was buffered by the total volume of solution.  Much like your body buffers the insult of chemicals from direct injection, food additives, absorption through the nostrils, and absorption through the skin.  You are fighting to resolve these chemicals, but sadly, many of them adhere to your immune system.

Eventually, just like that titration experiment, you become changed.  The flask turns purple in the most commonly used experiment.  Unfortunately, nothing so obvious happens to you.  But as you take in these chemicals from all directions (are you still getting BPA from your plastics… how about phthalates), you are altered.  And slowly and silently, your intestinal tract is weakened by the lack of immunity, your brain function is altered because of receptor sites no longer being available due to chemical adherence.

It becomes too much, and very few of us take it as serious as we should.  My friend Kelly Steffens has pretty much healed her daughter Marley from her autism, and this daughter of hers has mild CP as well… this was an uphill battle all the way, and she has fought to a point of incredible victory.  Most of you don’t take the stand you need to.

When will you?  If you come to me and say, “I was diagnosed with cancer today”.  Will it be a place where you can say, “I took my health as serious yesterday, as I will today”?  For most the answer is always no.  Yet, the absolute best place to take your health serious, is on this side of cancer… the preventative side.

Coconut Oil, Almond Butter Joy!

After listening to Dr. Josh Axe speak at the office the other day, I recalled a gem of a dessert that I have made recently, that is divine, and if done just right is Advanced Plan approved.  And when not on the advanced plan you can up the taste just a bit, and add some other healthy options to make it oh so good!

If you are in the office reading the print version, be sure to go online and watch the video associated with this Daily Sprout.  It will give you a good idea as to how to make this lovely snack, that is full of healthy nutrition, and energy!  So before I get into the details, you need to realize that if you are reading/watching this without having an understanding of the high fat (healthy fat) and low carbohydrate (stay away from the sugar and grains that readily turn to sugar) diet that has healed so many, you will have a deep internal battle with this!

 

 

Coconut is perhaps the most valuable source of fat around.  The CLA (conjugate linoleic acid) levels are very high, and this fat has been shown to have near miraculous effect on people with certain conditions including alzheithmers, and to induce weight loss simply by adding it to the diet according to some studies.  Have you heard the term “heart healthy fat”?  Almonds are rich in monounsaturated fat, which when combined with the healthy saturated fats in coconut oil, have an awesome impact on your overall health.

The dessert is this:  1 scoop of Almond butter (Raw please), and 1 scoop of Coconut oil (organic please), and 1/2 a bar of Beyond Organic Chocolate.  Yep, real simple, not much to it, just great enjoyable health.
