The Spa – Detox in a DAY!

It isn’t possible.  If you were attracted by that title, I can understand.  The buzz word of “DETOX” coupled with the current mentality of here and now, and don’t wait, get us a bit excited when we see things like “Detox in a day”.  Even if we know it is impossible. The thing that I believe most people are unclear about, is exactly what detox is.  My wife ran into someone who likes to go to the Grove Park Inn annually, someone who she knows from our life here in Woodstock, who commented when they caught wind that we were […]

60 Day Returns!

This is a re-post from August 2013 – the start of the 60 Day.  Converting the 40 Day Challenges into a longer challenge was an idea I had had a few years ago, but wasn’t sure what or how to do it.  Now I am pleased to say we have a book coming, and an app, and the brand is solid.  I thought I would post this, as it is no longer exactly as you see, but I love how close it is.  Notice in the first paragraph, I reference the retreat.  We did one with a retreat to the […]

More Frustration

By Dr. Mark Richards My last post I talked about going back to NY, and how it was fun and was a great time, but I left some of the story out. Amanda and I both got sick while we were there along with my son Eli. Besides being sick we pretty much felt like garbage the entire time we were there, from what we were eating. We completely dropped the straight 60 rules and basically ate cookies and pizza for a week. So, you can imagine how awful we were feeling and I think that lead to us getting […]

Comedian Kelly MacLean and Whole Foods

I cannot share the whole article, because as an adult comedian, language is not appropriate for this blog… but… this whole article is really funny – “Surviving Whole Foods” The point of the article is not to simply bash Whole Foods and tell you never to go there.  In the video at the bottom of the article where the Huffington Post Interviews her, she mentions she has been going to Whole Foods her whole life, despite the feeling in the article that this might have been a first trip.  But she does recognize that there are some unique features to […]

Expressing Health

Some of you know that I was OUT this Wednesday afternoon with a cold.  Sick as some say.  Well, as you should know by now, we don’t call it sick when you have symptoms.  Only individuals with good immune systems know how to express symptoms in a way to kill a cold virus.  So we call that expressing health. In other words, your expression of health is that your body, in a near perfect way identified a virus as it entered your system (and in all cases, it was likely well over a hundred million of that virus that entered […]

Choose Joy

By Dr. Mark Richrds I hope you had a great Christmas and new years. A lot has changed for me and my family this year. The biggest change, moving here. But there were some other major changes as well, me going from a full time student to working full time, and for my wife Amanda, the opposite, going from working to being a stay at home mom. When we first moved here, it was initially difficult, we were home sick, missed our friends and family back in New York, but we adjusted quickly. We were very busy with unpacking, getting […]

RESOLUTE

“There is more to you than a body and a balance sheet.” – Andy Stanley Every year I write a Daily Sprout regarding the amazing opportunity that presents itself  every New Year.  I know, I know… many of you are SICK of the idea of making resolutions on New Year’s.  “If it is that important, why wait til the New Year, just do it.”  or  “why make a decision to stop doing something for a month, if you are going to do it, do it right, why tie it to a new year”.  And I fully understand this sentiment. Waiting […]

Christmas

The absolute best time of year. Period. I absolutely love Christmas for many reasons. One being my wife’s birthday. Yep, for those who didn’t know, she was born on Christmas Day… Eh hem… Some odd number of years ago. Well, actually an even number. One of my goals is to make her birthday amazing each year. Some years I succeed very well, others not so much. But the special nature of a Christmas birthday coupled with the celebration of the birth of love… Awesome! Christ came down to a dark world. Sometimes we fail to see it for what it […]

Join Us On Our Mission

Our mission here at Healthsprout is to change the way the world views healthcare. We do what we can to get out into the world and spread this information.  That’s why we do talks, postural screenings, and challenges like the 60-Day Turnaround. As effective as these measures are, they will always fail in comparison of your impact on spreading the word. You are our greatest asset at pursuing our mission. From my experience most people see chiropractic as simply a way to treat back pain, which there are a lot of chiropractors out there that base their practice on just […]
