Poison Ivy

Well, it’s Mid-July and with every summer, you just couldn’t enjoy it well enough without insects and poison ivy. They are part of God’s creation soooo… we should try to get along with them right?  Easier said than done.  Thankfully, we CAN live in peace and harmony with nature’s agitators.   One thing I’ve learned in the past 5 years is that nature is designed very intelligently, and there is always a solution to our problems.  We just have to look hard enough. I’ve come to realize that everything in nature has an equal and an opposite.  There’s up and […]

Premarin – I know you know

Many of you have heard about premarin before… you know, what it is made out of.  Right, think about it, the hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women, or in some cases used with women who have hormone imbalances.  Known to increase cancer risk (uterine specific), and used to treat any number of symptoms. So the secret that you should have guessed, that it is made from horse urine.  You know, I just love these little details.  The details that make you think, ugh.  No thanks.  I know many of my Christian friends are totally against the chicken pox vaccine because […]

Eating Organic on a Budget – Pt. 1 “Food Babe”

The Food Babe’s New Article on Eating Organic on a Budget is a good read.  So I decided to share part of it here, and be sure to click the link above (or type it in from below – http://foodbabe.com/2013/05/20/how-to-eat-organic-on-a-budget/?sb ) to read the whole article. If you have read my reviews of Food Babe before, you know that I think she is a little over the top, and that probably seems impossible for many of you.  But her efforts and details are good, she sometimes tells a story that I believe is probably impossible to follow.  Nonetheless, this is  good one. […]

Christmas in July

Well, it is here once again, so I guess I’ll write a Daily Sprout entirely about Christmas in July.  But what about it?  The reason why chiropractors who write volumes of information about diet, vaccines, toxins and more… ultimately move bones all day?  That might be important. Perhaps the reason why we have been able to maintain 500 patient visits a week for a decade?  That might mean something about the value of what we do.  I consider the umber of people who have come to us with cancer, and found results.  Of course, there have been those who haven’t. […]

The Risk of Daily NSAID’s

I posted a video on facebook on Sunday, it comes from the American Gastroenterology Association.  Funny.  I mean, you know, the idea of even watching a video from this group seems to be, well, gassy.  But, the video in fact is very valuable. The discussion was regarding the gastro-intestinal issues that come from long term use of NSAID’s, such as naproxen or aspirin.  My immediate first response, was to google the primary speaker in the video, Byron Cryer MD.  He has a good history of education, Bachelor’s at Harvard, Medical School at Baylor.  Faculty in gastroenterology at University of Texas […]

Oil Pulling

By now, if you’ve been reading the daily sprout on a regular basis, you’ve noticed that we take a natural and holistic approach to everything health related, not just with chiropractic. When we see there is a real and powerful value in something, we want you to know about it. There are some topics that get us fired up, and some that at the very least compelling to consider as an alternative approach to health. A couple of days ago I ran across an article on Mercola’s website about an ancient oral hygienic technique. It’s interesting that I often use […]

EWG.org – Update on Their Mission

Environmental Working Group – they brought you the dirty dozen and the clean fifteen, and then they brought “Skin Deep” the clean cosmetics database.  So much that comes for free, and their current focus is this:   Dear Eric, Big Ag is trying to push through a massive increase in the nationwide use of a toxic weed killer, and the clock is ticking on our chances to stop them. As I write, the Environmental Protection Agency is weighing whether to approve Dow Chemical Co.’s new weed killing product, Enlist Duo, a mix of the notorious herbicide 2,4-D and another weed […]

Re-visiting Philosophy

If you recall, it all starts with philosophy.  In the past two weeks, Dr. Mike has written two Daily Sprouts which are there to take on your philosophy.  One was titled Overdosed America, and the other… Milk. If you begin your “Pursuit of Health” based off of a set of beliefs, swallowing the pill that goes along with abrupt messages, is easy.  I speak from experience, as I had no philosophical basis for my health, nor did I understand the need, nor did I accept the need when it was first placed in front of me.  Dr. Goldberg,  has/had (not […]

Fat The Final Word

No, I am not a genius, I began preaching high fat very early on in the minds of most people who have been reading me, but only because I joined in with those who had objected to low fat since it’s advent. I went along with others. Smarter than I, because I was just smart enough to recognize their more developed point of view. As we wrap up our fat discussion, the most important thing that you can grasp, is to lose the low fat focus.  That needs to go away, now.  You should purposefully avoid buying all low fat […]

Milk

I grew up on this stuff.  Loved it.  I put it in my cereal, dipped my Oreos in it, drank a glass of it with every spaghetti dinner (trust me, that’s the way to go), I consumed a lot of it.  I also had a lot of health problems as a child, with chronic ear infections and digestive issues.  Had I gone to a naturopathic doctor as a kid, milk is likely the first thing that would’ve been taken out of my diet.  My parents were never informed of the dangers of the industrialized milk that we find in our […]
