To Perfect or not to Perfect

Is it purr fect, or Pir FECT… can you tell what I mean?  Well the point is simply, when we do the diets that we do, and we pick up a new program, should we follow it perfectly, or not?  That is the question of the day, and I am going to give you the science behind why “perfect” should be your plan.

I know, this rings of a boring conversation.  I tell you that you can never eat anything tasty again. You listen intently, consider the idea of it, then as soon as you are off to a fun party… or out to dinner, you say “well, I have been so good for the last week… month… etc.  I have earned a cheat night, and I am sure it won’t hurt me.”

I must first agree.  You DO deserve a cheat day.  Staying committed to the 60 Day Plan for more than a week, is deserving of a cheat day.  As long as you don’t mind ruining everything you have worked for.  You see, in our diet, we aren’t trying to get you to lose weight.  Sure, many people have that goal, but our goal is to perfect hormones.  And though you could lose weight all day, and feel like you have done something really fantastic, it isn’t until you have created a balance in your hormones, that you have created a LASTING change from your efforts.

Why?  Well, we are working to create a very sensitive insulin response.  The complete opposite of insulin resistance.  Now, lets stop for a second.  You aren’t insulin resistant you say.  So therefore you don’t need this.  The question is, are you optimal?  Are you at the polar opposite end of the spectrum from insulin resistance, do you have the function that gives you more hope for health, vs hanging on by a thread.

You see, the reality is, the medical model doesn’t even test your insulin.  Seriously, look at your last blood test and find the insulin levels.  They aren’t there.  You have sugar.  So your insulin resistance is measured by your sugar.  The sad thing, is that your insulin will be elevated in most cases, for YEARS before your sugar finally elevates, and in most people, once the sugar goes up, if you don’t do this diet, you will be diabetic in no time.  Why wait???

So perfection is needed, because the environment that is necessary for insulin and leptin (last post on Leptin is HERE) to be re-set to normal, involved an environment of NO drastic sugar increases in the blood.  The sugar has to remain level, and relatively low, for an extended period.  Each time it is bumped back up, the insulin receptors that were beginning to build back, are lost.  They will not be replenished, and silently and quietly you will be backed up days, weeks, or even months on your progress path.

Is perfection hard?  I don’t know… maybe.  My wife and I are on it now, about three weeks so far, and perfection hasn’t been hard.  But I know the rules, and i know the ways to make some tasty treats that fit the rules.  I guess that is important.  So, here it is, the 60 Day Diet in a nutshell.

1. No sugar, nothing that is sugar like, no honey, agave, maple syrup.
a. no artificial sweeteners
b. stevia is good, xylitol and erythritol are acceptable, but stevia is good
2. No Grains (corn and rice are grains)
a.  Quinoa is good for a weekly meal
3. No root vegetables (small amounts of onion for flavor are ok)
4. No Legumes
5. Keep protein in check, unless you are one who naturally has high metabolism, then you should have a significant amount of protein.
6. Dairy is OK in moderation for most.  If you show positive to caseine sensitivity, then NO.
7.  Fat is good, just pick the right fat.
8.  Berries, one handful, every day.  No other fruit.

So, the nutshell is there.  Study it, follow it, and get ready to jump into the 60 Day Turnaround in September.  The registration will be up here soon – 60 Day Registration.  Thanks, and remember to follow Dr. Marks blog on the 60 Day Story Here  (he is already down 14 lbs… but does that mean he has good insulin function?  No – not yet).

Week 1

I’ve completed the first week of the diet!! It definitely wasn’t easy to start. We just moved here to Georgia from New York in mid July. We started the diet shortly after arriving. I had hoped to start the diet after our stuff had arrived and we had unpacked some. In my mind moving furniture was a great excuse to have a lot of pizza. However, our stuff was about a week late so I started the diet before the moving process. Our stuff actually arrived the day after we started the diet.

The first 3 days were by far the hardest. We were moving furniture and boxes all day and not to mention doing a Crossfit workout in the morning before our things had arrived. The first 3 days really felt like torture. I felt like I had no energy what-so-ever. I had bad headaches the 2nd and 3rd day and really I wanted to eat  some pizza, or bread, or even just a peach (I’ve heard they are good here).

After the 3rd day, things got surprisingly easier. I didn’t really expect it. I didn’t feel as fatigued and the headaches had stopped. The really weird thing was that I wasn’t constantly thinking about what I wanted to eat, but couldn’t. I was actually looking forward to some of my other snacks that fit the diet. I would still have a craving once in a while but I was really surprised at the change just within the first week.

I started this at 230 lbs. After one week of the diet and doing some Crossfit I’m down 6 lbs. to 224 lbs.

“Under Our Skin”

The documentary, Under Our Skin, sheds a whole lot of light (Tracy is that grammar acceptable?), on the Lyme disease battle.  As many of you are aware, my wife was diagnosed with Lyme disease just over one year ago.  Well, actually, we diagnosed it then, but it wasn’t until October that we were able to get a corresponding diagnosis from a medical doctor.

Which is one of the most prevalent problems with this disease.  As you watch this movie and hear the stories of mis-diagnosis, the stories reveal how this disease becomes deadly.  One of the concerns that I have, is simply how rampant this disease is becoming, yet how unknown it is.  Perhaps the most significant of concerns with the spread of the disease, is that the vector, the tick, lives for two years.  Consider the difference of a tick, feeding, and re-feeding on many different host animals over its lifetime.

It starts by contracting the disease from a random animal.  Passes it on, and again.  When compared to a mosquito who lives between four days and one month (depending on the breed), the tick life cycle offers much greater opportunity for an infected insect to infect others.  Oh, and some ticks, live over a decade.

The documentary is currently available to view on Dr. Mercola’s website until 8/1/14.  So, if you act on this now, you can watch the entire video, for free, online.  I also noticed it is in the On Demand list on DISH network, giving you the opportunity to watch it that way.  I recommend you view it.

under Our Skin

My end goal with educating on Lyme, is to help others be quick to identify a problem.  The critical period of the Lyme fight, is the first month.  It is common that individuals who are treated early, are able to overcome the disease completely.  And as you know, I am totally against medical treatments as the first step, we always see the importance of wellness focus first.  Chiropractic, nutrition… then the damaging therapies of medicine last.  Well, not with this disease.  This one you need the antibiotic early.  So diagnosis is critical.

We acquired doxycycline illegally in order to begin treatment before we had the diagnosis.  It was a good idea.  Laura is still in the fight, but we have had some good signs that she is possibly going to be over this battle in the next few months.  I have patients, and others whom I now know who have fought this battle for 4, 6 and even up to 12 years.

From Dr. Mercola’s Article

According to preliminary statistics1 released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last year, approximately 300,000 new cases of Lyme disease are diagnosed in the US each year.

This is about 10 times higher than the officially reported number of cases, indicating that the disease is being vastly underreported. Since national surveillance began in 1982, the number of Lyme cases reported annually has increased nearly 25-fold.2

That is a SIGNIFICANT statistic.  Now, a quick review of the mis-diagnosis, and what it all means.  Very commonly, because the symptoms of Lyme are heavily in the neurological world, the patient will appear to have MS.  A common drug therapy for MS patients is to utilize Interferon therapy.   Natural interferon is produced by the body to inhibit the activity of pathogens such as viruses, and bacteria.

You will read that interferon drug therapy helps the immune system.  But I would re-state that as “assists”.  Helps would suggest that it is an aid to the effort of the immune system, where assistance would be working alongside of it.  The reason why this matters, is because the use of interferon, according to RXList.com can result in “abnormalities of the cells in the blood”… as well as “a drop in red and white blood cells and platelets”.  The problem is that unnatural drug therapy, can do work, but the the body stops doing work.  This is a very bad response when the spirochete, borrelia burgdorferi, is running around your body.  At this point, you want nothing more than an active immune system.

So in the presence of a mis-diagnosis, the host/victim, is left in a weakened state for fighting, and often times when diagnosis occurs, the body is so far behind the infection, that years are required, along with massive efforts in lifestyle control and supplementation, to build the immune system back to where it needs to be.

How I got here

I wanted to share how I got to such an unhealthy point. I was a very athletic kid growing up. I played sports with my friends all the time. When I hit my teenage years I was playing on multiple hockey teams in the winter and multiple soccer teams each summer. So I was a teenager constantly exercising. That meant I ate A LOT!   Eating a lot wasn’t necessarily a problem, but what I was eating definitely was.

The Schwann’s man would visit our house on a regular basis. If you’re not familiar with Schwann’s, it is a frozen food company that delivers  delicious frozen foods right to your door. In our house we would always have a freezer full of pizza, burritos, ice cream, etc. As an always hungry teen, it was awesome for me. I could have a frozen pizza for a snack, a few burritos whenever I wanted. Because I was so active, I appeared completely healthy, I was actually in really great shape, but I had developed some really poor eating habits.

Fast forward to after high school and beginning of college. My activity level dropped off almost completely. I tried to play hockey or soccer once a week depending on the season. It was nothing like it had been leading up to this point though. While my activity dropped off significantly my eating didn’t change. I would still eat as if I was a growing teenager.

The weight started adding up. For the past 10 years I’ve been over 200 lbs. (220 lbs. being the average). I would try different thing to lose the weight. I was always unsuccessful. Something always came up, like a party, anniversary, or wedding where I would “cheat” just that one day, then a week later realize I turned my day to cheat into a week, which lead to giving up. I had a hard time with committing and following through.

So here I am now, ready, and excited to finally get healthy again. I know its going to be hard to commit to this, but it is worth it!

Devotion

My pastor Gavin Adams did a great job speaking on devotion this week.  His sermon was good. Focusing on the first century church, and how their numbers grew tremendously in a short time as these early followers became devoted to a few areas in life that gave them success as a following/gathering.

I couldn’t help but consider the life of devotion that one must lead to gain health.  The reality is, we are either devoted people in general, or we are not.  I notice that most people who are successful with their health, are successful in other arenas of life as well.  However, that is not as easy to see on the surface.

In other words, I know many successful people, who are not healthy.  And I know many healthy people, who are not successful.  I also know many people who are either of the above, but have not been successful in family or marriage life.  In other words, it seems like I am proving wrong, the idea that you are either completely devoted in life or not.  But the reality is that until you have someone to follow, you don’t know what to be devoted to.

Paul was the great leader of the first century church.  He stepped in and with passion gave the account of the spirit, leading tens of thousands of people to know and trust in Christ.  I believe that is the missing piece.

For example, if you are trusting in culture to help you understand devotion to your wife; you will likely end up divorced.  Because that is the norm in our culture.  However success… well, culture tends to be a guide for financial or business success.  It just so happens that it does so at a consequence of other arenas of life.  Success often takes the focus of devotion entirely, sacrificing many other arenas.

In health, we have found that our best long term health stories come from people who stay devoted to:

1.  Their Spines – the source of all function.

2. Their Diet – with a focus on clean meats and clean vegetables, avoiding sugar.

3. Their Supplementation – knowing where you cannot win, and making sure you find success.  Juice Plus is the best on the market as the bottom of the pyramid, followed by Omega 3 and D3.

4. Their Exercise – “owe, I am just getting started… again” is not the sound of a devoted individual.

So as you contemplate these words, please contemplate taking steps towards all 4.  And ask us how, as we want to help lead you.

Be Blessed and Be Well! – Dr. E

We are ON IT!

My household, well the adults… which would be myself and my wife.  And my brothers household (of adults – not his three children), are all on the 60 Day Diet plan right now!  We are getting geared up for the 60 Day Turnaround starting late September.  This way, you can get to watch some of the impact that this will have on my brother as he is putting himself through a significant life change, before you jump into it for yourself.

That being said, you can also watch and here what my wife and I have to say about it.  We have been doing this pretty hardcore, twice a year for a few years, but Laura has not been able to truly follow it since her Lyme disease diagnosis.  This is because she has found that certain foods would calm an unsettled stomach, foods that are not on the 60 Day Diet.  But she has improved enough to jump in, so at this point we are 8 days in and doing great.

MArk

Dr. Mark will be blogging starting very soon on this page here – Dr. Marks Path  This will be a great resource for anybody who wants to follow along.  As many of you know, I have been writing the book for the 60 Day Turnaround, and it continues to grow in size and scope.  One piece that I plan on adding to the book, is a day by day diet while going through this, so that you can see everything consumed over 60 days.  I will share some of those days along the way.

So for now, Summer is coming to an end (school summer that is), so get geared up for commitment.  We want to see the remainder of 2014 exceed all of your expectations for total health!  God Bless you all and Be well!  And say HI to Dr. Mark!

The “Xylitol Bark” in the picture was WIPED OUT by four of us looking to get some dessert.  The bark is pure cacao, coconut oil, pecans, and xylitol.  Refrigerated for a few minutes (coconut oil hardens fast) and served.  It was awesome.

Poison Ivy

Well, it’s Mid-July and with every summer, you just couldn’t enjoy it well enough without insects and poison ivy. They are part of God’s creation soooo… we should try to get along with them right?  Easier said than done.  Thankfully, we CAN live in peace and harmony with nature’s agitators.   One thing I’ve learned in the past 5 years is that nature is designed very intelligently, and there is always a solution to our problems.  We just have to look hard enough.

I’ve come to realize that everything in nature has an equal and an opposite.  There’s up and there’s down, positive and negative, male and female, love and hate, health and sickness, venom and antidote, gravity and antigravity… if you think about it long enough you’ll tire yourself out. Examples are evident everywhere in nature.  So, why not just give up and have faith that the statement is true.  Embrace it.  There is an equal and opposite for everything.  So, that being said… Wouldn’t it be nice to know that God has an answer for everything?  So long as we look for it, we will find it. Seek and ye shall find.

I grew up with an allergy to poison ivy.   I swear to you, that I did not have to touch it. I just had to be near it, and I would be in the doctor’s office within a few days getting a prescription for steroids.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but calamine lotion doesn’t work. It may ease the itching for a couple of hours but that won’t stop the rash from raging on. In school, I began straying from medication.  I knew that steroids were not limited to clearing up my rash, but were also wreaking havoc on my body.  So, I tried to go without steroids one summer, using only calamine lotion.  I figured that a topical application was better than taking something with systemic involvement.  Two weeks after trying this route and I was back in the medical doctor’s office with the WORST poison ivy rash I had ever had.  I had it on my stomach, arms, back of my neck, and the backs of both of my knees were covered to the point where I couldn’t walk without making it worse.  I had to miss school, ruined several pairs of pants and got new sheets on my bed.  (The only reason I’m telling you this is because you can’t tell me that you get it worse than I do.)  But then, I decided to seek out a solution in nature.  I won’t accept the answer, “you must take steroids”, because that is an unacceptable answer to me.  A year later I found nature’s antidote. Jewelweed.

Jewelweed can often be found growing near poison ivy.  It contains the chemical 2-methyloxy-1, 4-napthoquinone, which has a neutralizing effect on the chemical urushiol, found in poison ivy.  Interestingly urushiol is also found in mangos to a lesser degree, which is why I have an allergy to mangos!  My favorite fruit!! WHY!?!

Whole Foods store sells a jewelweed soap bar, as well as a spray, that you can apply to poison ivy rash.  It will clear it up in a few days, depending on how bad the rash is.  If you think you’ve brushed by some poison ivy, just wash the area once or twice with the soap bar. I let a rash get about 20% as bad as the one from my story, and after applying the jewelweed for a few days it completely disappeared.  Awesome stuff. Check it out! The next sprout will be on nature’s solution to bugs!

Premarin – I know you know

Many of you have heard about premarin before… you know, what it is made out of.  Right, think about it, the hormone replacement therapy for menopausal women, or in some cases used with women who have hormone imbalances.  Known to increase cancer risk (uterine specific), and used to treat any number of symptoms.

So the secret that you should have guessed, that it is made from horse urine.  You know, I just love these little details.  The details that make you think, ugh.  No thanks.  I know many of my Christian friends are totally against the chicken pox vaccine because it is incubated in aborted fetal tissue, yeah, aborted babies end up in your body if you get that vaccine (human diploid cells is how it is listed in the ingredients).  Sad.

So, the horse urine thing, well, maybe it isn’t so bad, but I enjoy digging into the details, and in so doing, my wife found this story about a horse.  Oh, it is important to know that the name premarin is the broken down components of PREgnant MARe urINe.  This helps, as I find people sometimes think these facts are made up.  Nope.

So here is the story that I thought you would find interesting.  And… I am NOT an animal rights activist.

What do you see? A Percheron horse with a halter, right? There is so much more to this picture then meets the eye. This is a Premarin mare. She was owned by a drug company, kept pregnant and stood in a straight stall hooked up to a catheter, given less water then necessary to make her urine stronger for the drug prescribed for women to use during menopause.

No longer wanted, she was shipped from Canada to an auction in Roanoke, AL with 100+ other mares to be sent to slaughter. That was in Jan. 2004. STH’s organized a campaign and publicity brought in great homes. All horses were bought by private homes, none went to slaughter. This mare went to an older couple who lived in Warm Springs, GA. They named her Lady. The husband cared for her until he passed away in 2011. We were called to take her and realized she had been fed well but never handled. Getting her in a trailer was a job but patience won out. Tom did a great job of sweet talking her  and told her she was coming to a safe place. Since she arrived, we let her be a horse and would touch her for as long as she allowed. Sandy has been going to see her daily for a long time and asking her to put the halter on. Lady finally accepted and said ‘YES’! It may not sound like much to some, but to STH’s and to Sandy, it is a giant break through. We use no force, no domination, no fear, just gentle asking and lots of love. Great job Sandy! Amazing to say the least.

I think of how many ways we utilize animals.  I am overjoyed that we can use them in positive ways, but I don’t believe this to be one.  Especially considering:

Estrogens can increase the risk of cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer). Taking a progestin as directed by your doctor can help decrease this risk. Tell your doctor right away if you have any unusual vaginal bleeding.

In postmenopausal women, estrogens can increase the risk of cancer of the ovaries, stroke, dementia, and serious blood clots in the legs.
From – http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-76336-premarin+oral.aspx

I have found that women who eat a very TIGHT diet of our 60 Day Turnaround, will end up promoting better hormonal function, and will end up with a functioning liver, that allows them to detoxify the metabolites of their hormones very well, and they end up not needing a drug from the outside in.  It is worth the battle over diet, to win the battle over hormones.

Eating Organic on a Budget – Pt. 1 “Food Babe”

The Food Babe’s New Article on Eating Organic on a Budget is a good read.  So I decided to share part of it here, and be sure to click the link above (or type it in from below – http://foodbabe.com/2013/05/20/how-to-eat-organic-on-a-budget/?sb ) to read the whole article.

If you have read my reviews of Food Babe before, you know that I think she is a little over the top, and that probably seems impossible for many of you.  But her efforts and details are good, she sometimes tells a story that I believe is probably impossible to follow.  Nonetheless, this is  good one.  Part two will be coming shortly, and it will be all of the little details that I like to use, that are not included in this blog post.

How To Eat Organic On A Budget (Over 75 Tips!)

By

The one tried and true worry I get about living an organic lifestyle is the cost. It’s likely the only immediate downside because everything else about living organically is pretty magical. Remember, non-organic food often contains cancer-causing hormones, immunity destroying anti-biotics and dangerous pesticides. Pesticides by nature are designed to kill, they are poison. So when given the choice, I don’t know why anyone could logically buy food with poison sprayed on it? Pesticides can cause neurological problems, cancer, infertility, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergies and asthma, wheezing, rashes and other skin problems, ADHD, birth defects and more. That’s why buying quality organic food and eating the most nutritious foods on the planet will save you BIG BUCKS down the road in medical costs, prescription drugs and doctor visits…like my friend Birke always says “We can either pay the farmer or we can pay the hospital” – It’s totally up to us.

Over 75 Tips On How to Eat Organic On A Budget…

In hopes to mitigate the initial money pains of buying organic, I want to share the top organic money saving ideas that I’ve gathered from my friends and family members. And, let me tell you, I learned a lot myself while putting together this list and combining everyone’s tips into one cohesive guide. I can’t wait to put some of these new ideas into practice. Let the savings begin!

FIND AND USE ORGANIC COUPONS (details online on her site)
AT HOME AND IN THE KITCHEN

  • Stay organized. Plan out your meals for the week according to organic foods that are on sale and/or that you have coupons for.
  • Budget. Write out a weekly and monthly budget to help you keep track of both erratic spending and responsible spending. This will allow you to see your spending habits and help you prioritize purchasing organic food within your budget.
  • Do it yourself, rather than buy it. Make your own organic granola bars, kale chips, smoothies, juices to replaced store-bought with more overhead.
  • Learn how to portion and prioritize – it is a necessity to always buy organic meats and dairy products, and, therefore, learn to portion your consumption of these products each week. For example, keep meat to 4 ounces or less per serving.
  • Invest in a 4 stage water filter installed directly under your sink to avoid having to buy bottled water. Also, check the Environmental Working Group guide on choosing the right water filter for you.
  • Check out the book “Wildly Affordable Organic” for organic menu planning on $5 a day or less.

USE YOUR FREEZER (details online on her site)
MAKE CHOICES

  • Meat & dairy (animals products like chicken, eggs, cheese, butter, yogurt, milk, etc.) are the most important to buy organic because of the combined risk of pesticide, anti-biotic and cancer causing growth hormone exposure. Whatever you do, do not skimp here.
  • Reduce meat and dairy consumption if you cannot afford organic – One way to do this is to be vegan before 6pm, as Mark Bittman explains in his latest book. For example, have a green smoothie for breakfast with ezekiel toast, and then a large salad with lentils at lunch or a wrap made with hummus and then at night choose high quality meat in small portions.
  • Reduce amount of organic meat used by substituting half the portion with organic beans.
  • Buy a whole organic chicken for less per pound, vs. just the breast, legs or wings which are more expensive per pound. You can use the carcass to make your own chicken broth.
  • Use the “Clean 15” and “Dirty Dozen” lists available on ewg.org to help you navigate which products to buy organic (or take with you when you travel). For example, if you have a choice between more expensive organic red peppers and less expensive conventional asparagus – choose the asparagus. Asparagus naturally repel pests allowing it to be grown with minimal pesticides. Include red pepper in your diet when it is in season or you can find it cheaper at another grocery store.
  • Do not buy pre-washed and ready to eat fruits and veggies, as they can cost twice as much.
  • Skip conventional Starbucks (and other coffee shops). Buy organic coffee and tea such as: Larry’s Beans Organic Coffee and Numi and make it yourself. This will actually save you time in the morning too.
  • Eat out only twice a week – eating organic at home is significantly less expensive than eating at organic restaurants.

BUY IN BULK (details online on her site)
BUY ONLINE

  • Green PolkaDot Box – This service delivers organic and non-GMO food directly to your door step. It is membership club like Costco and Sam’s Club with some of the lowest prices available for organic staples, meat, dairy and other goods. (FYI – become a club member by Friday, May 25, 2012 to get 10% off the first order with the code “FOODBABE”).
  • Amazon – One of my favorite shopping sites, because they basically have every brand available and ship free over $25.00.
  • VitaCost – Another low cost website that has a wide variety of organic and healthy foods, vitamins, etc.
  • Herbs Pro – Another low cost website that has a wide variety of organic and healthy foods, vitamins, etc.
  • Before you check out online, visit Retail Me Not for online promotional codes and discounts for all your favorite online stores and sources.

So as said before – you need to read more… there is a lot, and I’ll add some more for you in a week.  Be well and Be blessed!  – Dr. E

Christmas in July

Well, it is here once again, so I guess I’ll write a Daily Sprout entirely about Christmas in July.  But what about it?  The reason why chiropractors who write volumes of information about diet, vaccines, toxins and more… ultimately move bones all day?  That might be important.

Perhaps the reason why we have been able to maintain 500 patient visits a week for a decade?  That might mean something about the value of what we do.  I consider the umber of people who have come to us with cancer, and found results.  Of course, there have been those who haven’t.    But miracles are not under our control.

Well, all of it is important, but it all starts with a simple understanding of the human body.  A faith in its ability to function well, whether you believe in creation or evolution, you probably have a faith in this thing you occupy.  You know well that I believe in creation, a perfect intelligence to create an amazing body.  Not perfect, no… this world is not meant for that.

But here it is.  If your brain was able to keep you well from disease, for thirty years, then should it not be able to keep you from disease longer?  Why would you not have access to the wellness that you have had before?  Yes, we have done things wrong, we have created problems, but that is our mission and focus on the five essentials.  Reversing the wrong.

The Brain is the most magnificent creation on the planet.  Controlling all function and healing in the body.  This is the culmination of the ages here, big time stuff.  Its like the placard at the Bodies Exhibit – The Central Nervous System – “Controls Everything”. Simple and profound.

Which is why we exist.  Because it was discovered in 1895 when Harvey Lillard lost his hearing, and D.D. Palmer adjusted his spine, and healing was restored.  This is why you so commonly hear me tell you, “I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR PAIN”, I am on a mission to objectively restore function, don’t let your pain cause me to lose my focus.  There are bigger things at work here, thank you very much.

drug use

Prescription Drug Use Rises in the US

I love the correction of the spine, when the job has been done, healing improves, immune system function is restored.  It is an awesome change.  Now.  This is probably the most important point.  We don’t know when.  We don’t know how.  We don’t know what.  In other words, along the way, there are many possibilities and we are not in the driver’s seat of these possibilities.  I have had patients who have gotten weaker in their immune systems first.  I have had patients who have gotten stronger along the way.  It is all different and unique.  I had a patient tell me today, that his allergies have improved, lessening the need for shots, and reducing the responsiveness to allergens.  About 15 visits in.

I have had patients hang with me for years to finally get off of blood pressure meds.  Why the difference?  We can give theories, but we are not in charge.  This is simply the difference of all things bio-mechanical, biochemical and neurological.  There is uniqueness to all.

So, back to this Christmas in July.  The only time a year when you can get someone in our office checked out for free.  If you have family that hasn’t been checked, pick up a gift certificate (looks like a present or a stocking), give it to them.  BUT, don’t forget to fill out the one for our office.  Your name and their name, and then all of you who pray, we ask you to pray for the health of the name on the card.  We will put them on our prayer tree as well as on the walls.  Let’s fill this place up, pass out 20 to your best friends, randomly at church, the neighbors mailbox.  Why? Because there is a mission at hand.

With a nervous system that powerful, why are we, 5% of the population of the world, taking 75% of the world’s manufactured meds?  Because we are a mess.
